I recently began watching this series with my oldest son. It’s totally his all-time favorite television series. He has a huge poster in his room, an encyclopedia dedicated to it, and the complete collection on DVD. The Blu-ray set crops up on his Christmas list each year.($300-$400? I don’t think so!) What lures him to it is his love of the character build-up for each cast member.
We just made it to season 3. I’ve kept my judgment of the show to myself, but the further it gets, the more I believe they all died and they’re looking back on some type of life reflection. I know, far out, huh? At first I took it face value that they were trying to survive a plane crash, but the more their lives entwined before they boarded the plane, the more I think it’s something more weird. The verdict is still out. You know what a snooper I am. I’m trying to refrain from looking up spoilers out of respect for my little boy.
My favorite character from the beginning has been Sawyer. Call it the bad boy persona that captured me. What can I say? It’s interesting, though. I would more than likely date Jack if it were real life. He’s more my speed. There’s still something to be said for the unruly ones:) For females, I like Kate. She’s independent, self-assured, and sneaky. I would definitely pick her on my team for survival.
We watch one a week. By this rate we should finish the series before he goes off to college!
