My family has been offered a calf! Beautiful little boy, huh? It seems his mother doesn’t want to perform her motherly duties and refuses to feed him:( The owner, our good friend, has been bottle feeding him for a few weeks and is unable to continue because of an impending trip he’s going on. So he thought my children would get a kick out of having him as a new addition to our family.
My mother is going to foster him while we finish installing gates. He will be bunking with some small goats she’s been raising. Who knows, if he finds a friend maybe they can both come and live together at our farm. I can’t wait. His owner says he follows him around and nudges him all the time. Granted, once he hits the 1,000 pound mark, nudging might be a little overwhelming. I’ll have to find the perfect bell:)
