I’ve been busy with promotion as of late. It’s the moment I await, after the book is painfully written…with no clue as to the ending…no sleep until edits are polished, then off to the presses. It’s an amazing feeling. Seeing it wrapped up in finality. Words waiting to be read. To be reviewed. To find out what everyone thought of it. But of course that comes after I let everyone know that I’m ready to release!
Let’s back up, shall we? Let’s introduce a few people again. It’s been awhile, right? Let’s begin with Boone County, Texas. Nice place, really. It’s sort of a place you’d imagine when you turn on those reruns of Gilmore Girls. The nosey neighbors, the ever-so-handsome doctors at Cedar Medical. The hardware store, Rosie’s Quick Lunch, the list goes on…
It’s all there. And so are the women of Boone County. Well, not right now. Abigail’s story kicks off the first book in the series. Coming Home, I’ve titled it. Actually a friend of mine titled it. Sherryl Woods, to be exact. In the creation of it, it was Her Secret Garden. But, I liked her suggestion most. So here we have Abigail. She currently lives in Maine. It’s cold and she rather dislikes the weather. Fondly remembers Texas, but never thinks about returning there. Until….
Tessa Snow shows up on her porch. Ah, Tessa. The link to all that will bring Abigail’s life into a tornado-like swirl. Winds reaching 80 miles per hour. With just one girl! So far Abigail’s day had not been stellar, and to her soon finding out, it will get much worse. Well, worse? She doesn’t realize it, but all the pieces she is soon to be splintered into…it’s for her betterment. Isn’t life crazy that way? While hunched over, taking on winds and debris coming at us, we have no idea that when the dust settles, life will be all the sweeter. Just cling to the rain gear, ladies!
So…life (and Tessa) takes her back to Boone. Where she discovers a whole lot of things (and people from her past). Including this guy here:
The one that got away. Ryan Jameson. My oh my. What a total heartthrob. And backing up just a little bit closer to the beginning of our story….Abigail is sort of with this guy: Joe Batista. By all accounts a great catch. Leading attorney at his law firm, turns the heads of all the single (and some married) ladies. And he only has eyes for Abigail. That’s why he’s waiting out her latest discovery that she feels a bit ‘off’ and wants to reconsider her occupation and that engagement ring he so lovingly sprung on her at a political event with all eyes on her and her answer ‘yes! I will!’ No pressure there.
So yes! I’m a little excited to unleash ‘Coming Home’, book 1 in The Women Of Boone County series to everyone to read. I hope all who reads this genre…women’s fiction, clean read, with a dash of romance, will enjoy it as much as I did writing it. I invite you to open to page one on February 6th to begin the journey of 6 women and see how their lives intertwine with each other and manage on ending with a happily ever after.
